About Me

Suzanne Pinyon

I have a background of 30 years as a civil litigation lawyer practising in the area pf personal injury.  My areas of practise included medical negligence, public liability,  motor vehicle accidents, Workcover and employment law.  I have an intimate knowledge through my work in civil litigation of the impact conflict has on people’s lives especially when the conflict extends over a long period of time.

I have seen the benefits of timely and cost effective conflict resolution and now dedicate my time to helping people resolve conflict. Aa a mediator I empower parties through the mediation process to find the best solution for their situation as soon as possible and minimise the damage caused by conflict.

I am a nationally accredited mediator with AMDRAS and a member of the Mediation Institute, Resolution Institute and the Alternative Dispute resolution committee at the Law Society of South Australia.

I believe in life long learning and continue to educate myself to improve my knowledge and skills so that I can best assist parties to a Mediation to reach a mutually acceptable and workable solution.  I have undertaken additional training in Elder Mediation and workplace mediation.

I am passionate about assisting parties to reach understanding, restore communication, and find solutions that reflect the values and needs of all involved.

About Our Process

  • Intake & Assessment – We start with a confidential conversation to understand your dispute and answer your questions about the mediation process.

  • Pre-mediation session – in preparation for the Mediation each participant is given the opportunity to share their story and express their goals in a private pre-mediation session. This is a critical stage as it builds trust in and lays the foundation for a productive joint mediation session.

  • Mediation – all parties come together in a guided conversation facilitated by the mediator. The focus is on respectful communication, exploring interests, and identifying possible solutions and usually involves an opportunity for a further private session with each party if required.

  • Negotiation & Agreement – Together, we work toward a mutually acceptable agreement that addresses the needs and concerns of everyone involved.

  • Follow-Up – if required by the parties we can undertake a follow-up session and provide additional support after the mediation to help ensure agreements are working and to address any new issues that may arise.
